UAE Business Setup: The Questions People Actually Arrive With

The questions founders actually ask before, during and after forming a UAE company.

Every question on this page has been asked by somebody who had already been given an answer

Most of them had been given a confident one. The reason they asked again is that the confident answer did not survive contact with a bank, an incorporating authority, a tax adviser at home, or a renewal invoice in month thirteen.

This page answers the questions people actually arrive with rather than the ones a consultancy enjoys answering. That includes the uncomfortable ones: what a licence really costs, why nobody can quote one number without guessing, why an account was refused after the company was already formed, whether a UAE structure changes anything where you live, and whether you need a firm like this one at all. Where the honest answer is that it depends, the answer says so and then says what it depends on.

Every answer that has a page behind it ends by naming that page. Nothing here is a summary of a sales conversation; it is the shortest true version of each answer, with the longer version one link away.

Suited walkers follow glowing blue and green paths converging on one lit marker, Dubai skyline behind

The question you arrive with is rarely the question that settles it

Almost every founder opens with price. Price is the last output of the process, not the first input to it, which is why a firm that quotes on the first call is pricing a package and hoping you fit inside it. The questions that actually decide your answer are who your customers are and where they sit, what the activity is when matched to an incorporating authority's own classification, how many people need residence, how money will move, and where the owners are tax resident.

Answer those five and the licence falls out of them. Skip them and you buy a licence that has to be worked around later — a free zone company that cannot invoice the customer it was built for, a desk product that caps the headcount you meant to hire, or a 0% expectation the corporate tax regime will not honour.

The questions below run in that order: money first, because it is what everybody asks; then whether a UAE company is the right instrument at all; then jurisdiction, activity and timing; then visas, banking and tax, which is where formations that "went smoothly" tend to fail; then ownership, disclosure and how to check the firm you are talking to. Nothing is sequenced for a sales conversation. It is sequenced the way the decisions actually depend on each other.

Five sentences in a quote that mean something other than what you read

None of the sentences below is false. Each one is routinely read as something stronger than it says, and the firm writing it knows which reading is being bought.

In plain words: an advertised eligibility of six visas is an allocation of six permits and not six issued ones; an all-inclusive price is usually one activity and one shareholder with nobody attached to it; Golden Visa assistance is help with a file a federal authority decides on evidence outside the licence; a bank account is an introduction to a banker; and 0% is a rate available to a Qualifying Free Zone Person on qualifying income, subject to conditions.

five sentences, none of them false

What it actually namesWhat it is read as

  1. "Eligible for six visas"An allocation of six permitsSix issued permits
  2. "All-inclusive"One activity and one shareholderA price with the visas and year two inside it
  3. "Golden Visa assistance"Help with a file a federal authority decidesLong-term residence the licence carries
  4. "We will open your bank account"An introduction to a banker who will read the fileAn account somebody can guarantee
  5. "0% tax"A rate for a Qualifying Free Zone Person on qualifying incomeA rate the free zone licence confers by itself

The pattern is the same in all five: a real thing is named, and a larger thing is implied. Ask what specifically is included, get it in writing, and compare quotes only once both are on the same lines.

Which body decides what, and where no consultancy has any influence at all

An adviser explains a tablet document to a seated client, Dubai towers through the glass behind

A consultancy assembles files, sequences them and knows what each authority tests. It does not approve anything. Every row below is decided by the body named on the right-hand side, whatever the work on the left-hand side is worth, and a firm implying otherwise is selling certainty it does not own.

Read the two columns as two things that never meet. On the left, everything a consultancy owns: matching the activity to the classification and testing the name, identifying the second authority at activity selection, assembling the immigration file and confirming the quota, preparing and filing the tax positions, building a bank file that can be read, starting the attestation chain first, and assembling the evidence for a long-term category. On the right, the bodies that decide anyway — the incorporating authority, whichever of VARA, SCA, DFSA, FSRA, DHA or MOHAP, KHDA, Dubai Municipality and MOIAT applies, ICP and GDRFA with MOHRE for a mainland work permit, the Federal Tax Authority, the bank's compliance committee, the embassy chain and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and ICP with Dubai Land Department for the property route.

Where this page is the wrong thing to rely on

If a figure here is what you are about to act on. Every threshold, fee, deadline and penalty in this market is set by an authority that revises it without notice, and one obligation on this page was removed retroactively. Confirm anything load-bearing against the authority itself on the day you commit.

If the real question is about your own country's tax code. Nothing here is advice on foreign law, and the questions that decide whether a UAE structure is worth building — residence, place of effective management, controlled foreign company rules — are answered where you live. Take advice in both jurisdictions or you have optimised one half of a two-sided problem.

If you have already been refused by a bank. A general answer is not much use once there is a specific file with a specific stated reason. That conversation needs the licence, the structure, what was submitted and what came back, and it belongs on banking advisory rather than in a general answer here.

If your matter is a regulated financial services licence in DIFC or ADGM. The regulatory application is the project and the company formation is a footnote inside it. That belongs with specialist regulatory counsel from the first meeting.

If you need legal advice, litigation or a court filing. You need a UAE-licensed advocate. Setup consultancies draft documents and manage filings; they do not give legal opinions, and a firm blurring the two does you a disservice you only discover in a dispute.

If you want a shorter answer than the honest one. Several answers above are "it depends", followed by what it depends on. That is not evasion — it is the shape of the actual answer, and a firm giving you a cleaner one has replaced your question with an easier one.

One line runs under all six. The answers below sit on instruments that carry dates, and set on a true date axis rather than in a list the intervals do the arguing: a quiet stretch after 2018, then a run of changes reaching into 2026, the last of which had not yet taken effect when this page was written.

In order: value added tax has applied at a standard rate of 5% since 2018; economic substance filings stop after financial years ending on or before 31 December 2022, under Cabinet Decision No. 98 of 2024; a company incorporated on or after 1 March 2024 has three months to apply for corporate tax, under FTA Decision No. 3 of 2024; and the Central Bank's SME Customer Protection Regulation was issued as Circular No. 2/2026 in February 2026 and takes effect in September 2026, after which a bank must document and explain a rejection to an SME applicant.

What to bring if you want a real answer rather than a price

Four things make the first conversation worth having: what the business does, who its customers are and where they sit, how many people need UAE residence, and where the owners are tax resident. With those, your options can be mapped against the incorporating authorities that can actually issue the licence, and each route priced for what it costs to run in year two rather than what it costs to buy in year one.

If any of it points away from a UAE company, you will be told so on that call, before you have spent anything.

Frequently asked questions about forming and running a UAE company

Why will nobody give me a single price for setting up a company?

Because the price is the output of five unanswered questions: which incorporating authority can issue your activity, whether a second authority sits above it, how many people need residence, what premises that quota requires, and whether a corporate shareholder brings an attestation chain with it. A firm quoting before it has those is pricing a package. A labelled range is honest; a precise number on the first call usually is not. The cost lines are set out on business setup in the UAE.

What does an "all-inclusive" licence price usually leave out?

Commonly: the immigration file and establishment card, the residence permits themselves, medical insurance for each employee, premises that actually carry the quota rather than the cheapest desk, attestation of a corporate shareholder's documents, and the whole of year two. Ask for the authority's charge and the consultancy's fee on separate lines before you compare two quotes, because otherwise you are comparing two different things.

Why is year two more expensive than year one?

Because a first-year discount is a promotional licence fee and it reprices at renewal, alongside premises, the establishment card and the immigration renewals that were never in the launch offer. A saving that becomes a deferral is not a saving. Ask every firm for the year-two figure in writing next to the year-one figure. What a low-cost UAE licence leaves out works through the arithmetic.

Is the cheapest licence a false economy?

Not always. For one activity, one shareholder, no visas and no regulator above the licence, the thinnest-margin seller may be the rational purchase, and you should buy it. It becomes expensive when the cheap premises cap the headcount you actually need, when the activity does not match what you sell, or when a bank reads the whole arrangement as a shell.

How much of a quote is the consultancy's own fee?

You cannot tell from a blended figure, which is why blended figures exist. Ask for the split. A firm that separates the government charge from its own is telling you what it is being paid for. A firm that will not is telling you something too.

Do I actually need a consultant?

Often not. A single-activity free zone company with no visas, no external regulator and no corporate shareholder can be filed directly on the authority's own portal, and paying somebody to do that is paying for typing. A consultancy earns its fee where the file has a complication in it — corporate ownership, a regulated activity, a bank that has already refused you, or a structure that has to survive questions in another country. If you decide you do want one, choosing a business setup consultant in Dubai covers how these firms are paid and what to ask before signing.

Is share capital a fee I lose?

No. Where a zone requires capital to be deposited, it is paid into the company and stays the company's money — cash you must hold, not cost you spend. Some zones state a capital figure without requiring evidence of deposit at all. Establish which of the two applies before you budget for it.

I am one person with clients abroad. Do I need a company?

Possibly not a company. You need a lawful permission to work, and that can be a freelance permit or a sole establishment rather than a limited company. Separately, under Cabinet Decision No. 49 of 2023 a natural person falls within corporate tax only where turnover from the business exceeds AED 1,000,000 in a calendar year — a tax threshold, not a licensing one. The three shapes are compared in working alone in the UAE.

Will a UAE company reduce the tax I pay where I live?

Only if your own country stops taxing you, and that is decided where you live rather than where you incorporate. Residence tests, place of effective management and controlled foreign company rules all sit in your home jurisdiction's law. Take advice in both countries before building anything around a headline rate. UAE tax residency and what your home country still taxes sets out the tests.

Can I keep my current tax residency and still own a UAE company?

Yes — ownership is not residence, and nothing obliges you to move. What changes is that your home country may attribute the company's profits to you under its controlled foreign company rules, and may look at where decisions are actually taken rather than where the licence sits. That answer turns on your country's law, not on the UAE's.

Can I own a UAE company without living here?

Yes. Neither shareholding nor a licence requires you to hold UAE residence. What you forgo by staying away is the permit the company could have sponsored and, depending on the activity, some of the substance a bank wants to see. The mechanics — powers of attorney, attestation, remote signing — are in forming a UAE company from outside the country.

Is buying an existing company faster than forming one?

Sometimes, and it carries the seller's history with it: past filings, unknown liabilities, a bank relationship that may already have been exited, and an ownership chain you will have to evidence regardless. Any time you gain is spent on diligence you cannot skip. Buying a company for the residence attached to it is usually the wrong purchase.

Mainland or free zone — which one is right?

It follows from who your customers are. Selling directly to UAE-based customers, bidding for government contracts or needing retail premises points to mainland. Serving regional or international clients from consultancy, technology, media or trading points to a free zone. Price is the last input. Both routes are set out at mainland company formation and free zone company formation.

Can a free zone company sell to customers on the mainland?

Not directly, in the general case. The routes are a mainland distributor, a mainland branch, or a second licence — each a cost that was not in the package. This is discovered after the first invoice more often than before it, and it is the single most common structural regret in this market.

Can I move from a free zone to the mainland later?

Only if both authorities agree. The Commercial Companies Law now lets a company transfer to the mainland authority, keeping its legal personality, where both authorities' systems permit it and both approve; a move out of ADGM or DIFC depends on controls the law leaves to the Cabinet. Otherwise the alternatives are a parallel licence, a branch, a new entity, or closing and reforming, and none of them is free, instant or invisible to your bank and your visas. Moving between free zone and mainland works through each one and what it costs.

Do I still need an Emirati partner for a mainland company?

Not for most activities. Federal Decree-Law No. 26 of 2020 removed the general requirement, and mainland commercial and professional activities are now widely open to full foreign ownership. A defined set of activities with strategic impact, under Cabinet Resolution No. 55 of 2021, still requires Emirati participation or a local service agent. Which category yours falls in is checked against the authority's list, never assumed.

Which free zone is the best one?

The question has no answer in the abstract, and a firm that names one before asking about your activity is naming the zone that pays it best. Zones differ on permitted activities, premises products, visa allocation, the regulators sitting above them and their behaviour at renewal. The profiles are compared side by side at free zones.

What is an offshore company actually good for?

Holding things — shares, intellectual property, and property where a land record permits it. RAK ICC and Jafza Offshore issue no trade licence, require no premises and grant no residence permit, and a bank account is the hardest part of the exercise. As a vehicle for an operating business it is the wrong shape entirely. See offshore company formation.

Is a licence in one of the cheaper emirates a worse licence?

No, it is a different one. Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Umm Al Quwain and Fujairah issue real licences under their own authorities. What changes is where your visas are processed, how a Dubai landlord and a Dubai bank read the address, and what an inspection looks like. What a cheap licence in the northern emirates actually costs is the unflattering version.

Why does the activity on the licence matter so much?

Because nearly everything keys off it: which authorities can issue the licence, whether a second regulator must approve you first, what a bank believes you do, whether your income can qualify for the free zone 0% rate, and what an inspection measures you against. It looks like a field on a form. It decides the shape of the company.

What if my business does not match anything on the activity list?

You choose from the authority's classification, not from your own description, so the work is translating what you do into codes that already exist. Where nothing fits, the usual answers are a combination of activities, a different incorporating authority with a broader list, or a change to what you are proposing to sell. The activities a second authority has to approve covers the harder end.

Can I add activities later?

Usually, for a fee, with two conditions people miss. Activities on a single licence are expected to sit in the same category, so a consultancy that starts trading goods is often a second entity rather than an amendment. And your bank onboarded a specific profile — tell them before their periodic review finds it, because a query on a corporate account tends to arrive as a freeze first and a question second.

Why was my trade name rejected?

Names are tested against published rules: no religious references, no country or government names, nothing matching a name already held with that authority, correct Arabic transliteration, and a personal name used in full rather than abbreviated. A rejected name is paid for twice, which is the only argument you need for checking the rules before submitting rather than after.

Does a general trading licence let me trade anything?

It means something different in every zone, and in none of them does it mean everything. Categories controlled by a second authority — pharmaceuticals, food, tobacco, weapons, precious metals among them — sit outside it whatever the name implies. Read the zone's own excluded list. What a general trading licence actually permits compares them.

Once a trade name is reserved, is it mine?

With that authority, for the length of the reservation, against another company taking the same name there. It is not a trademark and it does not stop somebody else using the name commercially. Trademark protection is a separate filing with the Ministry of Economy and Tourism, and it is the one that matters if the name is the asset.

How long does the whole thing take?

The licence is rarely the slow part. What sets the schedule is attestation of foreign corporate documents through an embassy chain, any second authority that has to approve the activity, and the bank — which starts after the licence exists and runs on its own timetable. A regulated activity is planned in months. Anyone quoting a single end-to-end date has not yet met your file. Where the company is going to be a Dubai one, business setup in Dubai sets the same timeline out route by route.

What is most likely to delay me?

Attestation of a corporate shareholder's documents, almost always. After that: an activity requiring a second authority's approval, a trade name refusal, premises that turn out not to carry the quota you asked for, and a document from your home country that arrives translated but not legalised. Six things break a UAE formation traces each one back to its cause.

Can I pay to make it faster?

Parts of it, and not the parts that matter. Authorities sell expedited handling on their own steps and it is often worth buying. Nobody sells speed on an embassy's queue, a regulator's review, or a bank's compliance committee. A firm promising a date across those is quoting a hope and charging for it.

Does the licence come with a residence visa?

No. The licence permits the business; residence is a separate file with a separate authority. What a package sells is an allocation — permission to apply for a stated number of permits — after which each one is applied for, paid for, medically gated and stamped. The sequence is on UAE residence visas and immigration support.

How many visas do I actually get?

Quota follows premises, not ambition. A desk product supports a small allocation and a leased office supports more, which is exactly how the cheapest premises quietly caps the headcount you were planning. On the mainland, MOHRE must additionally have electronic quota available before an employment permit can be issued at all.

Is an investor visa the same thing as a Golden Visa?

No. Owning shares entitles you to apply for an ordinary investor or partner permit sponsored by the company — renewable, and dependent on that company continuing to exist. The Golden Visa is separate long-term residence, self-sponsored, granted under its own categories by federal authorities on evidence outside the licence. A trade licence does not come with a Golden Visa sets out the difference.

Can I sponsor my family?

Generally yes, once your own residence is issued, subject to the income and accommodation conditions the immigration authority applies. Dependants sponsored under a company permit are tied to that permit and cancelled with it. That dependency, rather than the number of years printed on the document, is the real difference between the ordinary route and long-term residence.

How long can I stay outside the UAE without losing my residence?

An ordinary residence permit is void after a continuous absence beyond the period set in the immigration rules, and Golden Visa holders are relieved of that rule. Confirm the current period with ICP or GDRFA before planning around it. This is a rule people discover at an airport, and by then it has already applied.

What happens to my visa if the company closes?

It goes with the company. Visas are cancelled before a licence can be, in a fixed order — dependants, then staff, then the owner — and the establishment card closes last. Anyone whose residence matters more than the business should know that before signing anything. Closing a UAE company properly sets out the sequence.

Why did the bank refuse me when the company is already licensed?

Almost always one of six things: the licensed activity does not match what you actually do, there is no substance behind the address, the source of funds is asserted rather than evidenced, the ownership chain cannot be traced to natural persons, your counterparties or shareholder nationalities sit outside that bank's appetite, or the file was simply incomplete. Most of those were decided at formation, months earlier. Corporate bank account opening works through each.

Can anyone guarantee me a bank account?

No. Onboarding sits with a bank's compliance committee under Central Bank due diligence standards, and no consultancy, free zone or introducer overrides it. What an introduction genuinely buys is that your file reaches a banker who will read it, at an institution whose appetite matches your activity and ownership. That is worth something. It is worth far less than a complete, coherent, evidenced file.

The bank will not tell me why it refused. Is that allowed?

Today, largely yes. The Central Bank's SME Customer Protection Regulation, issued as Circular No. 2/2026 in February 2026 and taking effect in September 2026, requires licensed banks and finance companies to document and explain delays and rejections to SME applicants, and gives them access to the Sanadak ombudsman. Until it bites, you are inferring the reason from the file.

Can a bank close the account after opening it?

Yes, and it happens often enough to plan for. Accounts are reviewed periodically and closed for dormancy, for flows that do not match the declared activity, for an unnotified change of activity or ownership, and for a counterparty the bank has since exited. Onboarding is the start of the relationship being tested, not the end of it.

Should I apply to several banks at once?

Choose where to apply before applying, rather than after a refusal. Refusals are recorded, and resubmitting the same file to the same institution makes the next attempt harder. Where the refusal was structural — a sanctions nexus, a beneficial owner who cannot be evidenced, an activity the bank has exited — repackaging is not a remedy and no consultancy should sell it as one.

Is the UAE actually tax-free?

No, and it has not been since Federal Decree-Law No. 47 of 2022. Corporate tax applies at 9% on taxable income above AED 375,000, with 0% below that. VAT has applied since 2018 at a standard rate of 5%. What the UAE does not levy is a federal personal income tax on salaries. That is a genuine advantage, and it is a different sentence from the one usually advertised.

Does a free zone company pay 0%?

Only as a Qualifying Free Zone Person, and only on qualifying income. The conditions include adequate substance in the zone, audited financial statements, transfer pricing compliance, and non-qualifying revenue staying within a de minimis limit — the lower of 5% of total revenue or AED 5,000,000. Most free zone service businesses selling to non-free-zone customers earn little or no qualifying income. UAE corporate tax for new companies sets out the tests.

Do I have to enrol for corporate tax if I will never owe anything?

Yes. Enrolment through EmaraTax is required whether or not tax is payable — including where Small Business Relief is claimed, and including a free zone company expecting 0%. FTA Decision No. 3 of 2024 sets the timing, and a company incorporated on or after 1 March 2024 must apply within three months of incorporation.

What is Small Business Relief, and would I qualify?

It treats a resident company as having derived no taxable income for a tax period where revenue does not exceed AED 3 million in that period and in every earlier one. Two things are commonly missed: it has an end date set by ministerial decision and that date has already moved once, and a Qualifying Free Zone Person cannot claim it at all. Confirm the current position before structuring around it.

When is my first tax return due?

The corporate tax return is filed and the liability settled within nine months of the end of the tax period. Your first financial year end therefore fixes every deadline the company will ever have, and it is chosen once, usually in passing, usually by somebody whose involvement ends at the licence. Choosing your first financial year end explains what it locks in.

Do I need to be enrolled for VAT?

Enrolment is mandatory once taxable supplies and imports exceed AED 375,000 over the preceding twelve months, or are expected to within the next thirty days, and voluntary above AED 187,500. Note that the threshold counts imports, which is what catches companies convinced they only buy from abroad. VAT and corporate tax compliance covers the returns and the deadlines.

Do I need audited accounts?

It depends on the zone and on what you are claiming. Several free zones require audited statements as a renewal condition, and a Qualifying Free Zone Person must have them to hold the 0% position. Every taxable person must keep records capable of supporting the return whether or not an audit is required. Audit and accounting sets out who is caught.

Am I UAE tax resident because I hold a residence visa?

Not automatically. Cabinet Decision No. 85 of 2022 sets the tests: presence of 183 days or more in a twelve-month period; or 90 days or more for a UAE national, resident or GCC national with a permanent place of residence or employment or business here; or having your usual place of residence and the centre of your financial and personal interests in the UAE. A permit alone satisfies none of them.

Why do you need my passport, address and source of funds?

Because corporate service provision is a supervised category under the UAE's anti-money-laundering framework, now set out in Federal Decree-Law No. 10 of 2025. A firm in that category is supervised by the Ministry of Economy and Tourism, enrols on the Financial Intelligence Unit's goAML platform, appoints a named compliance officer and runs due diligence on every client. A firm that does not ask is not lighter-touch — it is either not meeting its own obligations, or it will ask at the worst possible moment.

Can my ownership be kept private?

Not from the authorities. Records of real beneficiaries, shareholders and nominee directors are filed with the incorporating authority under Cabinet Decision No. 109 of 2023, and changes must be notified within 15 days. Nominee arrangements are themselves reportable. A structure designed to obscure who controls a company tends to pass the incorporating authority and fail at the bank, which is the worse of the two places to fail.

Do I still have to make an economic substance filing?

Not for financial years ending after 31 December 2022. Cabinet Decision No. 98 of 2024 confined the regime to periods ending on or before that date, so an invoice for a current-year economic substance filing is an invoice for nothing. Historic periods can still be examined. It is one of four obligations covered in UAE obligations that no longer exist.

What happens if I simply stop renewing the licence?

Penalties accrue against the licence and against the immigration file, permits lapse without being properly cancelled, and the company stays on the record as the shareholders' responsibility. A dormant company still carries filing obligations. Closing properly costs money; not closing costs more, arrives later, and follows the people whose names are on it.

Who holds the portal logins for my company?

They should be in the company's name and transferable to you on request, without a fee — the incorporating authority or free zone portal, the immigration e-channel, the EmaraTax account, and the bank mandate and tokens. This is the quiet failure mode in this market: the formation goes fine, and eighteen months later a client cannot renew or move a visa without the firm holding the credentials. The government accounts that are your company lists every one of them.

Am I an employer the moment I hire one person?

Yes, and the obligations begin at the contract lodged with MOHRE or with the free zone authority, not at your offer letter. Wage transfers through the Wage Protection System, medical insurance, gratuity and leave all key off that lodged contract, and Emiratisation targets apply once the establishment reaches the size the Cabinet resolutions specify. HR, payroll and workforce compliance sets out what starts when.

How do I check that a consultancy is real?

The trade licence number on the issuing authority's own record. A claimed partner appointment confirmed with the free zone itself. A Tax Agent number on the Federal Tax Authority's public record. A RERA broker card with Dubai Land Department. A sworn translator's listing with the Ministry of Justice. Every check is free and takes minutes. About ConsultZone applies the same list to this firm.

A firm told me it is an authorized channel partner. What does that mean?

That an authority has appointed it to present and submit that zone's licences. It is not an accreditation of quality, it gives no influence over an approval decision, and — the part usually omitted — a channel partner is paid by the authority, which is a live incentive to sell a free zone licence rather than a mainland one, and to sell the zone that pays best rather than the zone that fits. Ask the authority directly; a free zone will confirm or deny an appointment on a phone call.

Is "tax consultant" a qualification?

No. "Tax consultant" is not a protected title in the UAE. "Tax Agent" is: it means accreditation by the Federal Tax Authority and entry on a public record, and only an accredited agent can formally represent you before the FTA. Ask any firm, this one included, for the number, then check the record rather than the firm's own website.

Why is your quote higher than the one I already have?

Sometimes because it includes lines the other quote deferred to year two, or shows the government charge separately instead of blended, or specifies premises that actually carry the quota you asked for. Sometimes it is simply higher and the other firm is the better purchase. Put both side by side with year-two figures next to year-one figures, and it usually becomes obvious which is which.

What if the answer is that I should not do this at all?

Then that is the answer, and it is worth far more delivered before you have spent anything. A UAE company does not solve a problem that lives in your home country's tax code, and it does not fix a business that has no customers yet. Every service page on this site carries a section naming when its own subject is the wrong purchase, which is the same discipline written down where it can be checked.

How do I get an answer to something that is not on this page?

Call either number at the foot of this page, or email. The office is open 9:30 to 18:00, Monday to Friday, and every enquiry gets a reply within one business day. Bring the four things listed above and the first conversation is a mapping exercise rather than a sales call — including in the cases where the honest outcome is that you should spend nothing.
